Gladiator Style

I absolutely love Gladiator sandals, those Romans were a stylish bunch weren't they? I promised myself I wouldn't buy another pair of shoes this summer but I caved when I saw these in the window of H&M. These pleather lace up have a teeny wedge heel and are very "clompy". They were cheap at £14.99 and even though they make me look cankle-y at times I've been wearing them non stop. They're quite wide so perhaps they're not as attractive as they could be but they're so comfy I don't care!

OOTD featuring Swedish Hasbeens for H&M

In H&M today I spotted these shoes which are part of the Swedish Hasbeens shoe collection for H&M. I know wooden clogs were a big thing last year but I wasn't a big fan so I don't know why I was drawn to these? They also come in white but I think the red ones are cuter.

They are a bit granny I admit, but they're really well made for £35 and they are real leather. Actual Swedish Hasbeens retail for over £150 so I was really impressed with these, they haven't skimped on quality at all. I only bought them today but from walking around my garden they're not uncomfortable, but it will take some getting used to.

You also get a cute little tote bag!

My skinny jeans are the Dorothy Perkins pair I keep raving about and also from H&M (men's section) is this Jimi Hendrix tee shirt. I feel a bit of a swizz wearing it as I only really like one or two songs, but in my defence this is my sister's and all my summer clothes are in storage. In future I think I'll get my t shirts from the men's section - they're not tight fitted and the sleeves are slightly longer (great for covering up my fat arms) plus they're SO comfy!

NOTD: H&M Hello Kitty in Turquoise

The other day I went on a nail polish spree and came home with 5 new bottles. I only went in for one but I just couldn't help myself, which always seems to be the case. This what I am wearing on my nails today.

This bottle caught my eye whilst browsing H&M and I wasn't too sure if their Hello Kitty branded polishes were any good but I loved the bright colour.

It's definitely a two coater and really does need a top coat to make it glossy. The consistency of the polish isn't brilliant and I wasn't expecting much for £1.99, but the brush? Frigging awful! Worst brush ever - it's thin and the bristles are stuck together making the polish drag and the application VERY frustrating. Arghh!

Steer clear if you're ever tempted. The colour is lovely but turquoise polishes can be found in any brand.

Lanvin for H&M

On sale from the 23 November 2010, this is another collaboration I will be avoiding (even though I think it's 100x better than the Jimmy Choo one). It's not that the collection is awful but not much stood out and items are highly priced. The least expensive item is a tee shirt at £24.99 whilst shoes are £69.99 and dresses from £99+. However I do love the men's collection which is more fairly priced. The shirts and blazers are really snazzy!

I love Alber Elbaz's dresses for Lanvin so it was natural that the only pieces in this H&M collection I was drawn to were these two dresses.




With the price tag of £99 each, they are out of my budget but if you're looking for a pretty party dress for the upcoming festive season, don't think you could go wrong with these.

I'm really intrigued about this lipstick though which I think is the same colour as the packaging. Might pick this up seeing as it's an affordable £7.99.



Do you think I can get away with asking for a bag for my teeny tiny lipstick purchase? I love them!

H&M Divided F/W 2010

These photos are from the upcoming Divided Winter/Fall 2010 collection.  H&M is one of my favourite shops (if you couldn't already tell from how much I post about them) but these promos are just....blah. The clothes are uninspiring and boring. Not even a selection of top supermodels could persuade me to purchase anything.

Sort it out H&M!

Colourful and comfortable flats all the way!

So yesterday I went out for dinner and decided to wear my new pair of heels that I had bought over the weekend. They pinched a bit but I thought it would be a good opportunity to wear them in and stretch them out..... bad idea! The first 45 mins were fine but after that, I swear they got tighter with every step. I managed to withstand the pain for another hour before admitting defeat - my squished toes couldn't take it anymore.

I made a beeline for the nearest shop which happened to be H&M. These beauties were the first shoes I saw and I promptly paid for them and wore them straight away.

These are from the Garden Collection, "made with environmentally adapted materials like recycled polyester, organic cotton and organic linen".  They are the prettiest and most colourful flats I own - all my shoes are black or tan!

Not bad for £9.99 right? They're slightly too big but nothing that can't be rectified with some comfy insoles. The only downside is that as they're made from fabric, they will probably get dirty quickly. However, looking down at them cheers me up on dreary days such as the one we had today.

Denim is a big part of my life so naturally I love this new spring collection from H&M. Even better, it's reasonably priced with dresses starting from £7.99 and jeans £14.99! I want the cropped denim jacket (£9.99) pictured above but can't find it anywhere?

Sonia Rykiel's knitwear collection for H&M goes on sale at selected H&M stores at 9 am today.

The High Street S/S 2010

I can't wait for winter to be over so I can start dressing for Spring!

I never shop at New Look but I might start after seeing these promos. I'm a sucker for anything girly especially polka dots and bows. Also loving the lace at Dorothy Perkins and floral dresses from Primark. I thought Topshop and H&M were a bit blah, (most probably because of the styling)but the bandage style jeans and military esque cropped jacket caught my eye.

Sonia Rykiel for H&M lingerie

I didn't care for Jimmy Choo's range for H&M but I am definitely interested in the lingerie line that Sonia Rykiel has designed for H&M (not enough to queue outside Oxford St on a Saturday though).

I love the vintage inspired bras (especially the nude ones), the luxurious materials, the delicate detailing and how feminine they are. I'm not sure on the sizes available but I'm guessing  they won't have mine :(

Starting from £14.99, this line is more than affordable.

The collection launches worldwide, in 1,500 H&M stores on the 5th of December. It will also be available in major  Sonia Rykiel boutiques . Her second collection for H&M consisting of knitwear and accessories for women and girls, will debut in February 2010.

Jimmy Choo for H&M

            JIMMY CHOO BRINGS GLAMOUR TO H&M THIS AUTUMN

This autumn, British accessory brand Jimmy Choo will bring its international glamour and covetable shoes and bags to selected H&M stores. The collection will be available from November 14 in around 200 stores across the world. It is the first time that H&M is collaborating with an accessories brand, and to celebrate Jimmy Choo will extend its design vision for this collection to women’s clothing to complement the accessories. Further exciting news is that this collaboration includes a men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories.

....so that's what their press release has to say. Glamour? Covetable? I wholeheartedly disagree. Sure his main line has some beautiful and sexy shoes but this line for H&M is totally underwhelming and the majority of it looks cheap and tacky! Animal print, studs, and diamantes can look nice on their own but not all of them together! Yuck.

The one item that I love and would consider purchasing is this studded dress. It's gorgeous but it looks like any other Topshop dress really.

The prices vary - a pair of ballet pumps are expected to cost from £30 and £170 for a pair of boots. This isn't so bad considering a pair of ballet flats from his main collection costs around £245 and a pair of boots around £650.

But ask yourself this - would you buy most of these if they were ordinary high street clothes/shoes? I think it's easy to get carried away
because of a designer label.
