Monthly Favourites: November 2010

I haven't done one of these posts for a while because I haven't been straying from the products I've already blogged about. However these are the few new things I've been loving over the past month.

1. Dove Triple Moisturising Beauty Care Body Wash: The combination of the cold weather and central heating makes my skin really dry. I love this body wash because it's really moisturising and leaves my skin soft. Also there's something really comforting about the classic Dove scent.

2. Aquafresh Iso-active Whitening Foaming Gel: After my recent trip to the dentist I've become obsessed with keeping my teeth clean and white. This gel is so much better than toothpaste and it turns into foam to get in between your teeth. It's really minty and zingy as well which makes my mouth feel fresh and my teeth super clean.

3. Superdrug Deep Action Cleansing Lotion: I used to swear blind by Neutrogena's Visibly Clear Triple Action toner but they have now discontinued it (WHY?!!). This is the best alternative I have found. It has salicylic acid and witch hazel and I find it's good at removing dirt and preventing spots.

3. Revlon Grow Luscious mascara: Never tried a Revlon mascara before and I really like this one. I haven't been using it long enough to notice if my lashes are any longer but I will review it soon.

4. Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner: Love love love this. Have got a proper post about this coming soon but let's just say that I will no longer be buying any other pencil eyeliner.

5. Blistex Lip Massage: I find the whole massage thing a bit gimmicky especially as it's just a few bits of raised plastic. Despite this it's moisturising, smells yummy and has SPF10 which is an added bonus.

Monthly Favourites: July 2010

I know we are halfway through August but better late than never!

1. Aussie Dual Personality Heat Protection and Leave in Spray - Rolling over from last month, I am still loving this product, especially as my hair is really dry and damaged at the moment. I often spritz this onto my hair when I feel that it could do with a bit of moisture and it does a great job without feeling sticky or greasy.

2. Cutex Moisture Guard Nail polish Remover - Nothing outstanding but it does what it says and does it really well. The big plus is that it doesn't have a strong chemical smell, so I can use this with ease without the fear of passing out from fumes (as is the case with most other removers).

3. Vaseline Sheer Infusion Mineral Renewal Body Lotion - Bought this on offer and it isn't like anything I've used before. It has an almost gel like consistency but is really moisturising (without feeling sticky) and smells so good. It also claims to contain "enriching minerals like those found in healthy skin" but to be honest I don't really know much about that...

4. Coconut Oil - I've already done an entire post on this but also wanted to add it here as I've been using it every day! My ends are really dry despite using an intensive conditioner, so I try to lock in moisture and keep them in good condition by rubbing in a pea sized amount.

5&6. Mac Mineralize Blushes in Warm Soul and Dainty - I'm not really wearing any makeup at the moment but can't get enough of blushes. These are great in summer as the shimmer really reflects in the sunshine (when it decides to make an appearance).

Monthly Favourites: June 2010

1. Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover - I wasn't enamoured with this when I first bought it, but now I shall never buy anything else. It removes my waterproof eye makeup with ease and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy.

2. Aussie Dual Personality Heat Protection and Leave in Spray - Although only a recent purchase, I'm really impressed with it so far. I can't usually tell if a heat protection spray is working or not but with this product I can. My hair feels protected from the intense heat of my GHDs and much smoother and silkier. Must be the Australian Jojoba seed oil doing it's job! Smells really good too.

3. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash - Neutrogena never fails to disappoint when it comes to skincare and this is no exception. I have been using this everyday and I love it. My skin feels really clean and soft - not tight and dry like other facial washes. The grapefruit scent is also great for waking me up in the morning.

4. Simple Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Day Cream - This moisturiser is amazing for summer. It's so light and refreshing, sinks in easily and keeps my skin feeling hydrated. I cannot reccommend this enough.

5. Naked Coco de Mer Body Butter - Not only is this a monthly favourite, I think it's my favourite body moisturiser of all time! 97% natural and free from sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals, this body butter is amazing. It's thick and almost gel like and is very moisturising without being too rich (other body butters I've used have been too heavy and greasy). With ingredients such as coconut extract, shea butter and passion flower oil, it's a guarantee that it's going to smell good and it does. Ahh I could wax lyrical about this product all day but I'm going to move on!

6&7. Rimmel Lycra Pro in Pop Rose and Barry M Nail Paint in Berry Ice Cream - The perfect shades for summer. In fact it doesn't feel like summer unless my toe nails are bright pink. Pop Rose lasts for ages without chipping (must be the Lycra) and never dulls in colour. I hunted high and low all over London for Berry Ice Cream and it was worth the wait. It's so pretty and feminine and I will definitely be wearing this all summer long.

8&9. Nars Orgasm and Revlon A Floral Affair, Pinking of You - These two blushers have been long neglected but ever since the sunshine has come out, I've found myself using these two more and more. I love the combo of the soft pink and Orgasm's peachy shimmer. Really flattering and goes with all looks.
