HELP! How do I get rid of puffy eye bags?
This photo is from last year and I've kept it small as I didn't want to subject any of you to a massive close up of my face. The bags under my eyes are horrendous and they seem to be permanent. They look even worse now and no matter how much sleep I get, I wake up with them every single day. I've tried cooling gel eye masks, cold spoons, eye creams and eye strips but all the ones I have tried haven't done a thing.
It's something that really upsets me and is one of the main reasons I don't post photos of my face, as they look so awful. I'm worried that they'll get progressively worse as I get older. There are millions of products out there but I don't know where to start, nor do I want to waste my money on something that does naff all.
Is there anything you have tried and can reccommend? I'm willing to try anything! :(

Make sure you drink plenty of water, you could also try taking some vitamin c and d supplements, while rubbing a small amount of vitamin e cream into the under eye area should help.
ReplyDeleteAlso practise giving yourself a mini undereye facial as it will make the blood flow in that area, and help to eliminate your problem. x
We are in exactly the same boat! I have been trying to find a solution to this problem for years!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comment above, I find that mine get better when I drink lots of water.
Also a couple of things that I've found to help are the Garnier eye roll on (the green one) because it is cold and feels refreshing. The body shop have a really nice eye gel which is only £5 but that definitely helps.
Another thing is Bio Oil. That is supposed to lighten dark circles. I put a tiny bit around my eye area in the morning and at night and it has honestly made a huge difference.
I will let you know if I can think of anything else! xxx
I have the exact same problem, and now I'm developing fine LINES on top of the awful bags :/ so thank you for this post and thank you girls who posted above, I shall definitely be trying out some of your tips!

Awwww sorry to hear they upset you, but I can assure you they don't look that bad!
ReplyDeleteI really like the Garnier rollerball eye treatment/concealer, also MAC studio fix is really good to cover them up. Do they run in your family? x
@Tabitha Sheridan - I'm going to look into supplements, thank you xx
ReplyDelete@THat Girl - It never used to bug me before as much as it does now. Thanks for the tips xx
@Dani - I've got fine lines too! So annoying xx
@Karleigh - I'm the only one in my family who's got them so at least I know it's not hereditary. Concealer only covers my dark circles but you can still see the bags :( you're the 2nd person to reccommend the Garnier eye roll on so I'll look into that. Thanks sweets xx
You should really try garnier eye roll on!! This stuff is really good.
ReplyDeleteHope it's gonna work for you :)
Like Yass said, try that roll on, I use it (I don't have dark circles) but it really peps the dark circles I get when I don't get enough sleep.
ReplyDeleteI also find that the Origins eye cream that I reviewed on my blog is great for evening out the skin.
I have heard of putting used teabags on ur eyes to reduce puffiness but have never tried it..
ReplyDeletesometimes it can be lack of iron that makes your eye bags darker and more noticeable so now i take multi vitamins with iron, hope it works! lots of water helps too.
ReplyDeleteAwww hun... your eye bags are honestly not that bad!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I wouldn't spend loads of money on products that *claim* to get rid of them as it is usually a genetic thing (ie - you're either born with it or not).
Wear a bright lipstick or flicked out eyeliner to take any attention off them... I guarantee that no one will notice!! :)
Sami xx
I get quite bad puffiness in the mornings too, but ive never found anything that helps! If you do, let me know!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when people advise to use stuff from your kitchen but what I found that helps is grated potato. I know it sounds weird, but it really does help with puffiness. I also niticed a slight improvement with dark circles. All you do is grate the potato, and stick it on and leave it for about 20 mins. Try it for a week. May not work for you but certainly helped me when I was having too many late nights. xx
ReplyDeleteThe most apparent cure for eye puffiness is avoiding their causes. However, it is obviously not an easy thing to do. What you will need would be an immediate eye puffiness remedy that must always be ready in case they occur.
ReplyDeleteYou have good command on the topic and have explained in a very nice way.
